Topic: Gas prices to spike 60 cents or more by May
Message Posted: Feb 6, 2012 12:17:57 AM
After rising 19 cents a gallon in the past four weeks, regular unleaded gasoline now averages $3.48 a gallon, vs. $3.12 a year ago and $2.67 in February 2010.
Tom Kloza of the Oil Price Information Service expects average prices to peak at $4.05, although he and other industry trackers say prices could be sharply higher in some markets. Visit USA TODAY for full article

That's 30 cents because of the price of crude and 30 cents for the bottom line of the oil companies because they know they can get away with it. Thanks Republicans.

With these raising gas prices this year, a lot of drivers will have too face a lot of stress. I may be lucky, due to this fracture in my hand. After having an operation, the amount of driving will probably go down.

I wonder if the government has any plans to prevent this by releasing fuel from the strategic reserves.

This really should not come as a surprise. Big O and the rest of the professional politicians have dug a debt hole that the US can never recover from. The federal reserve has to keep devaluing the US dollar to prevent a collapse as long as possible. The irony is the longer they interfere, the more devastating the collapse will be.

From the article: "This year's earlier-than-usual run-up is more about anticipation than current supply and demand."
I think a more accurate word instead of 'anticipation' would be the word 'FEAR' or maybe 'GREED'! It seems to drive everything these days.....
And, humblepie: Exactly! Obama Spring indeed! But, don't be misled. This is just another of his campaign promises to see energy costs necessarily skyrocket fulfilled to the delight of his followers. Nothing like having a messiah that is also a prophet and a priest!!!
