Lomberg has always argued that global warming is real, and human activity was its main cause. He did NOT "reverse course" on that.

When one succumbs to the Green Religion Cult, one does crazy things. Take this guy. You may have seen him on the news today, oh boy. Especially of note, Points #1 and #4.

Last summer was the coolest summer Ive seen in 12 years in Cleveland. Now the west is having a cool summer. How much of what these people have to say can we really believe?

Good point MAC48.
The problem is, everyone (that wanted to) believed this guy the first time around. (He must have been invited to many events to talk, about the global warming hoax.)
Now that he is doing a 180 in the other direction, we stopped believing him. So the damage is done.
I HOPE THAT NO ONE BUYS HIS NEW BOOK!!

First this "scientist" writes a book published in 2001 that adopts the position that global warming is a fact but that man is not primarily responsible therefore there is nothing we can do to effect the situation and the expenditure of trillions is a waste of our money.
Now he is about to publish a book later this year that adopts the position that global warming is a fact and man is primarily responsible therefore we should do everything we can do to effect the situation spending trillions in the effort.
Be willing to bet that the royalties from the 2001 book have almost run out and he needs to revitalize his royalty income.
The opinion of this "scientist" has -0- credibility with me.

teafortwo said exactly what I was thinking!
To the naysayers out there, you can't look at a small sample data points and extrapolate that to the entire planet, like a cold spell here or a hot spell there.

Let's get this straight.
FIRST, this guy makes a bundle FROM A BOOK saying "It ain't so" the environmental impact of corporate pollution isn't THAT big of a deal ....
But now, this same guy is hoping to make ANOTHER bundle from HIS NEW BOOK calling for action to start curbing rampant corporate pollution?
Follow the money.
The pollution is a very real and serious problem that is having dire consequences on our planet.
FROM THE ARTICLE:
In a book to be published this year, Lomborg calls global warming "undoubtedly one of the chief concerns facing the world today" and calls for the world's governments to invest tens of billions of dollars annually to fight climate change.
Lomborg's former foes in the environmental movement are so far unimpressed by news of his conversion. Calling him a "shrewd self-promoter," Grist.org's Jonathan Hiskes marveled at Lomborg's ability to "play the media" in simply "adopting a position already held by millions of sensible people." And Friends of the Earth climate campaigner Mike Childs told the U.K. Guardian, "It appears that the self-styled skeptical environmentalist is beginning to become less skeptical as he enters middle age."
