Toyota Deals Get Customers Back To Showrooms

Sales had been down with all the gas-pedal recall news. Cars were piling up at dealerships. And now, as they say in the car business, Toyota wants to "move the metal" — meaning it wants to sell a lot of those cars....

It will be interesting to see how the Toyota story plays out. Will they be able to overcome the negative press only by providing much beter incentives (for the long-term, not just on a short-term basis) or will the negative press have very little impact on their long-term success?

Toyota is starting to fight back. Today, they cast doubt on the story of that guy - remember the guy last week that said his Prius accelerated out of control on the freeway? They said they found significant inconsistencies in his story. And let me tell you something, that's embarrassing when a car dealer calls you a liar.

Just make sure that the car won't have the issue of unintended acceleration. Otherwise Toyotas are good cars.

All automakers major objective to have a lot of sales.

Time has been passing by with this negative story about Toyota's recall, so it is coming to a time when the pressure is beginning to ease off.

Things may worsen if new problems and mistakes are discovered.

GOOD INFORMATION "Orestroker">>>>didn"t know that> Sometimes we're surprised to learn our chevy or cad was made in Canada or in the case of some chevy pickups in Mexico. I know things are global but I still like to buy American.

We're awake. We know how to read the extensive country of origin labeling on every new car.

Define "Buy American."

Hint: It's not having the world headquarters in Wayne County, Michigan.

Lots of American-made vehicles on the market. They're the one with "1", "4", or "5" in the first character of the VIN.

Another hint: They're not the truck that Government Motors advertises with the tune "This Is Our Country." That one comes from Mexico.

They're interested in buying my four-year-old Scion.

It's hardly broken in.
